ROAD: Acme Artists and the Stop the M11 Link Road Campaign 1984-1994

This AHRB-funded research project explored the participation of an artists' community in  protests against the building of the M11 Link Road in East London. Researchers Val Williams, Hannah Liley and Alison Marchant devised a programme of research which would create a series of oral history interviews, the collection and copying of archive material and a series of events, including a film screening and a series of seminars led by artists and activists around the campaign. Artists interviewed included Grayson Perry. The interviews can be accessed  and listened to on UAL Research Online http://ualresearchonline.arts.ac.uk/3098/
