Wet Collodion Portraits at LCC Studio
At a time when very few professional photographic portrait studios still exist, the Photographic Studio project aims to recreate and commemorate the institution of the local portrait studio.
UAL students, staff and both new and old residents of the Elephant and Castle community were invited to part in this Photographic Studio. Traditional wet collodion photographic techniques took place in the LCC Studio in Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre , with portrait images taken, developed and exhibited on site.
In this collaborative space, those at the heart of the Elephant and Castle community came together to create a new photographic archive of portraits documenting the changing landscape of the local area, as it continues to go through regeneration.
